Nuremberg, July 16, 2008 – Paessler AG, a world leader in network monitoring tools, today announced the availability of the latest version of Paessler Router Traffic Grapher, PRTG Network Monitor version 7. The new solution provides systems administrators and IT managers with an easy, cost effective way to ensure network availability. Using PRTG’s comprehensive monitoring and analysis tools, network administrators can reduce costs and save valuable time by avoiding outages, optimizing connection performance and controlling service level agreements.

For example, the new Auto-Pilot feature constantly scans networks segments for new devices, automatically determines types of devices and configures appropriate set of sensors for those devices, saving time and resources for administrators responsible for large networks. Pre-configured device templates provide recommended alarm and warning limits for many standard devices to help administrators save time and reduce configuration errors.
Recent polling at Gartner’s latest Data Center Conference indicates that longstanding pressure exists to troubleshoot network faults faster and prevent network performance problems.
Using Paessler network monitoring software, network managers can quickly identify unusual traffic or usage patterns and gain valuable insight to affect changes that reduce server and bandwidth bottlenecks and identify which applications or servers strain bandwidth.
